Being God's girl(:

Friday, December 30, 2011

Lately, I've been thinking about the person that I am. Questions have been flowing in and out of my head, "Why am I the person that I am?" "Why did I do the things I did back then, and why did it change what I do now?" Just questions that a teenager might ask themselves. The reason I ask myself those questions is because... I'm a completely different person than I used to be. I've changed, and beforehand, I made really bad decisions. I wanted to do what I wanted, and I didn't necessarily care about what certain people had to say. Now, all I can say now, is that that was completely stupid of me, and that I should have listened. I lost trust, I lost my privileges, and I lost my best friend.

Now that I've changed, I look back at what I did, and I think, "Well, if I had not done what I did then, I wouldn't be the person that I am today." I still get discouraged sometimes, and I wish I hadn't done those awful things... But, if I never would've gone through those years of hard times, trials, tribulations, hurt, confusion, etc... Then I never would have changed who I was, and I'd be that same stubborn, naive teenager. By the help of God and some unnamed people, I changed. I did a complete 360 degree turn! But, not only did I change, I began to gain trust back. It took me months to build it back up again. To this day, I'm STILL trying to build it up! Not because I lost it again, but because I want as much trust as I can get from my parents and friends.

At the start of 2011, I made a vow that I'm going to be *FEARLESS* and *NEGATIVELESS* and that I'm going to follow God in ALL my ways! Being fearless was to play the guitar and sing in front of my friends.. Being *negativeless* was to be positive in life and KNOW that God has a plan for my life, and that he has it in his hands! I did... BOTH! :) This year has been the BEST year that I've ever lived!! I couldn't be happier with my ways this year. Although, I'm not perfect, and I NEVER will be, I have made at least some Christ-like choices. :) I'm still a sinner and I always will be, but one thing I do know is that I Love God, and he loves me right back! He died for me and my awful sins. He knew they would happen way before they even happened! When they happened, I got down on my knees, asking for mercy, asking for forgiveness!
When I sin, I need alone time with God, so that I can ask him to forgive me, and read my Bible to help me be better about trying to avoid temptation. I'll always be tempted and always want to sin, but I know that every time I get on my knees and beg for forgiveness, that God separates my sins as far as east is to the west, and that he is very forgiving!

Psalm 103:12-
"as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us."

God is amazing, and I love him so much! He has changed me in so many ways, and I'm so glad that he made me the person that I am! I've never really liked the way that I was before, but I wouldn't be the person I am today! I thank God for my flaws and imperfections, and for correcting the ways I've lived. I will always have troubles, trials, and tribulations, but I also will have lessons to learn!

Something I hope that I NEVER forget is that Jesus LOVES me, and that:

and that EVERYONE has trouble sometimes with doubt, fear, hurt, and confusion! All Christians will have those troubles while we'll live on this earth! But, God can do anything and everything to fix it. He has a plan for us!!

Jeremiah 29:11-
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future."

I'm *GOD'S* little girl... and that will *NEVER* change!

I hope you enjoy reading this post, because I thoroughly enjoyed writing it!! :)

Reading God's Word

Tuesday, December 27, 2011

Since about October, I've been reading two-four chapters in my Bible everyday! I start out my day by reading, and I chose to do that, because it will help my day get started in a great way.. I love reading in my Bible, because some days, I just feel like I screwed up. When I open up my Bible, I end up reading what I needed to hear, sometimes. Not *ALWAYS* does that happen, but sometimes it does, and I absolutely *LOVE* it when that happens! God works in so good of ways! It's amazing what he can do to a person, when they read HIS word.

I've made it all the way to 2 Corinthians since I started in October, and I'm loving the pace that I'm reading at! It's perfect! Some verses really speak to me, so I grab my highlighter, and I highlight that verse, then I write it down in a notepad, to look back at the verses that popped out at me! Lots of verses that pop out at me are also in godly books by Christian authors. Those kinds of people inspire me so much, and when I read their books, I crave the Bible more, and I get more out of it. A lot of times, I get on this "spiritual high", and sometimes it dies down, but I get a lot out of the books I read and the Bible! So, I tell people about how I feel and what God has done to me in my life, and people are always inspired by me. I think it's really cool that people in books just know exactly what to say, especially if I'm dealing with the particular subject, and then I get something out of it, and tell people about it, and THEY get inspired! It's so cool how that works! :)

The amazing thing that happens is when I'm talking to God, a verse that I'm not particularly familiar with, will pop in my head, and I'll look it up, and sure enough, it'd be a verse! :) God has done that not once, but uncountable times! The times when I hear God speaking to me a lot is when I'm beginning to doubt my faith, and trust in the him, and he always pulls me back up, every time! When I'm about to lose a friend, or I lost something valuable, or things with my parents aren't going right, he *ALWAYS* has a plan, and it always turns out right!

This road is NOT easy to go down, and it's hard staying on the path, but God never said it would be easy... Life is hard and dealing with sin is hard! But if you let him, God will calm you in his righteous and true words of wisdom!
2 Corinthians 5:7-"for we walk by faith, not by sight."
Don't forget to read God's word! :)

Today!

Sunday, December 25, 2011

Eight years ago, TODAY, my dreams came true, and I got the most amazing, perfect, and wonderful mommy in the world! Not only did I get a mom, but two brothers, two sisters, a sister and brother-in-law, aunts and uncles, cousins, four nieces and nephews, and I've even had the *BEST* group of friends!! :-) I couldn't have asked God for a BETTER life than the one I live right now! It's perfect, it's amazing, it's wonderful, and I wouldn't change a thing!

Today is also Christmas... It's Jesus' birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JESUS! :-D I wonder how cool it would have been to visit Jesus after he was born, knowing that he would live on this earth, and be the most perfect man, and die the most perfect death of all! Jesus truly is amazing and I hope that everyone realizes it, and that he is the *REASON* for the SEASON!! He is the only reason we are celebrating Christmas! Without him, there would not even BE a Christmas!
Earlier this month, I was in a Christmas play for my school. I was the mom who had kids that weren't grateful for what they had, and didn't get as many presents as normal. The puppet went around the world to show them the people that had owned her before. After going to the other places, the kids realized that  they should be grateful that they get ANYTHING for Christmas and that even though they might not get as many presents, that with Christ, they are happy, and that the presents they get...don't matter much anymore!

We are *VERY* fortunate in the United States, and a lot of us take the things we have for granted... We just HAVE to have the newest, most stylish clothes, jewelry, hats, shoes, etc. and we get selfish! This season is the most beautiful season of all, and a lot of people don't know Jesus and what it's all about! They don't understand the meaning behind all the Christmas carols, the decorations, the presents, etc. But, as a Christian, I definitely do! I *LOVE* Christmas, not just because of the snow, and the presents, but that I got the most WONDERFUL gift I could have ever asked for... My sins being forgiven!! :-) A baby, being born perfect was sent into the world, to live like us, except he was sinless, then was sent to die on the cross... for ALL of us on this earth. Amazing, right?! I think so! I won't forget to thank Jesus for all that he has given me, this year, and all the many more to come!

I hope you ALL have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS! Enjoy today, and remember that JESUS is the REASON for the SEASON! :-)

Christmas

Friday, December 23, 2011

Christmas is in... TWO days!! :) It's a very exciting holiday, and it has special meaning to me! It isn't just a simple "Christmas story". It's the beginning of God's plan for ALL humanity! Baby Jesus was born in a stable, and was laid in a manger, because there was no room for him, Mary and Joseph in the Inn. He was born and raised on this earth! And he died on the cross for our sins. That's an amazing gift that he has given us! How AMAZING is that?!

Since he died on the cross for our sins, every year on December 25th, our families and friends all give each other gifts! Christmas is about Jesus, and he is the BEST, most PERFECT gift that we could ever get! If there was no Jesus and you took 'Christ' out of Christmas, there wouldn't even BE a Christmas!! It's all because of God's plan for the birth and sacrifice of Jesus Christ, that there is a Christmas! :) Make sure to thank Jesus this year, and to remember that *HE* is the reason for the season!

One of my FAVORITE things about Christmas is the beautiful, white, fluffy snow that falls on Christmas Day, the Christmas decorations, and the anniversary of my parents getting married! Christmas Day is one of my favorite days because my family and I get to open up presents and enjoy the food and our presents, and just getting to spend time together, as a family! Eight years ago, my parents got married, and I moved here! Ever since then, I've had great Christmas', but I doubt that they won't be as amazing as this one will be!
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL!! :)

God Bless,

Lindsey... My sister and best friend!

Friday, December 2, 2011

Lindsey, my beautiful, little sister, is someone I can not imagine my life without! I have lived fourteen years with her, and we've been through so much together. She is my BEST friend, and there isn't anyone else who takes her spot. She will ALWAYS be my best friend, no matter what! We've been through an incredible amount of events throughout our lives together, and we get closer each time something happens. Sometimes we have our arguments, but we always pull through with a laugh. If she wasn't here on this earth,  I'm not sure where I would be or what I would be doing. But while I DO have her, I just thought  I would say how much I appreciate her. She is a gift from God to me, and she is very special and important! I love her TOO much!(: Her smile make me smile, because it is as bright as the sun! She's funny, sweet, and almost always happy. I'm happy to have her as my sister, because I couldn't imagine her being anyone else(: She is the BEST and ONLY little sister that I could ask for! I thank God so much to have her in my life!

Anyway, the things we do together, people will never understand, because we are crazy and wild! But we love to have fun and live life! We go from giggling so hard, that our eyes are watering.....to choking on a drink, and it comes out of our noses!(: It is what makes life interesting and fun! Best friends always have the most fun together, and that is exactly what she and I do! Lindsey is one of the most unique people on the planet to me. I love the fact that she is ALWAYS singing, and being happy, and that's the way it should be(: I can't EVER stay mad at her.... She just has that special affect on people(: We do some crazy and fun things..especially this year and I thought I would share them with you:

  • The first snowfall of the year, we went outside to play in it and take pictures
  • When our parents leave home, we blast our music, and dance together
  • We get in a mood to talk in British accents
  • We go in different parts of the house, and do webcam chats with each other
  • We laugh so hard, we cry, and sometimes, milk comes out our noses(:
  • We stay up late on the weekends and talk in my bedroom
  • We watch re-runs of our favorite childhood movies
  • We eat ice cream and watch TV at night together
  • We cuddle in blankets
  • We finish each other's sentences
  • We have smile wars(:
  • We have our own version of staring contests
  • We joke around like we're ninjas(;
  • We always try to play volleyball... even at the worst possible time
  • We sing and play our instruments together
  • We stick together like peanut butter and jelly

There are the most common things that we do together... But, there is probably a LOT more! Anyway, I love her to pieces!! :D

Here is a verse that I picked out for her: "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself." -Luke 10:27

I hope you enjoyed reading about my amazing, little sister, Lindsey(:
